"In preparing to paint a butterfly, I perused a large format library book of more than 10,000 species in nature. But in the end I decided to make up my own original symbol for Christ’s resurrection. I started with wet paper so the image would be out of focus to express that this is a wonderful promise not yet realized this side of Heaven."
